Weighing a mere 6 to 10 grams, the lesser horseshoe bat is one of the smallest bats in the area. Unfortunately, it also holds the record as one of the most endangered mammals in Wallonia. While there were several hundreds of thousands of them in the 1950’s, there are less than 300 remaining today, grouped in three colonies situated in Orval, Modave, and Revogne.
