This plant is equipped with a sedimentation tank, which enables the plant to store and settle the major part of the water swept along during rainy episodes. It treats the wastewater from the Rochefort sewage system, as well as that from Jemelle, On, Hargimont and Marloie, which amounts to more than 25.000 inhabitants. The sewage is treated using the process of activated sludge.
