Notice the stone bridge with the three arches. The original bridge was built in 1758 following the plans of a master stone mason from Behogne. A long time ago, it consisted of 5 round arches, and the middle arch was wider than the others. These arches formed a humpbacked bridge with an entirely paved roadway. It was built entirely in dressed sandstone and cut stone. The burghers (bourgeois) of Rochefort and Behogne made financial contributions to its construction but demanded exemption from toll duty in exchange of their money. The bridge was destroyed during the Von Rundstedt Offensive (23 December 1944 around 3.30 in the morning), and was rebuilt in stone and concrete in 1955.
