The name of the road is a reminder that the village of Vonêche–the cradle of European crystal –is just a few kilometres away. At the beginning of the 19th century, the crystal factory of Vonêche was the largest English-style crystal factory in Europe. It also gave birth to Val Saint Lambert and the Baccarat crystal factories.
