The recording of my hike is not working properly in the background or with the screen off.

For Android

🚨
If you encounter GPS positioning issues on a Samsung Galaxy S24/S24+ device after the update to Android 16, please refer to this specific article: Samsung Galaxy S24 / S24+ - Android 16 - GPS freeze during hiking when the app is in the background

In order for certain features of the app (recording, tracking, downloading, ...) to work when the screen is off or in the background, it is often necessary to modify certain settings on your device.

First, check that you have not activated a power-saving mode in your device's battery settings or another setting that would cause the GPS to turn off when the screen is off.
On Sony devices in particular, enabling "Stamina mode" causes this issue.

Consult the specific advice according to your device manufacturer as detailed here:

You can also check the following website (in English only), which provides specific parameters that can be set according to your device's brand and model to prevent the application from being stopped by the system while it is running: https://dontkillmyapp.com/

After modifying these settings, a device restart may be necessary for it to take effect.

For iOS (iPhone / iPad)

Go to the "SityTrail" section in the "Settings" app on your iPhone / iPad and make sure that the settings are configured as shown in this screenshot:
