La scierie

Description

Les premières industries installées sur le ruisseau de Poix datent de l'époque de Dom Nicolas Spirlet, dernier abbé de Saint-Hubert de 1760 à 1794. Il s'agissait pour l'essentiel d'industries de transformation telles que des scieries, des fenderies et des usines de laminage.
En 1831, Léopold Zoude obtient l'autorisation de construire une scierie moyennant la mise en place d’une roue de 8,7 m de diamètre, une prise d'eau sans barrage et une digue de protection du village.
Après 1900, la vallée se dirigea vers la production d'électricité.
