What is the difference between the SityTrail app and the SityTrail World app?

SityTrail

The SityTrail app downloads maps in image format.

This allows compatibility with all the maps offered in the SityTrail Premium subscriptions, including the topographical maps of the national geographical institutes (IGN France, IGN Belgium, swisstopo, etc.).

However, the download of maps is slower, the maps occupy more space on your device and the networks of marked routes (pedestrian networks : GR, European routes, paths of Santiago de Compostela, ..., cycling networks : Green lanes (Voies vertes) in France, Ravel in Belgium, European routes, the Points-Nœuds networks in the Netherlands and Flanders, …,cross-country ski runs) are only accessible in online mode.

SityTrail World

The SityTrail World app includes a new vector mode map engine

This provides the following benefits:

  • Much faster download of maps in areas.
  • The maps use much less disk space.
  • The maps are displayed in high definition, regardless of the zoom level
  • If the map is rotated, the text will always remain in the correct orientation to be readable
  • You can also download marked routes (walking networks: GR, European routes, the paths of Santiago de Compostela, ..., cycling networks: Green lanes (Voies vertes) in France, Ravel in Belgium, European routes, the Points-Nœuds networks in the Netherlands and Flanders, …,cross-country ski runs) for offline use.

However, the maps available in this app are only those offered in our Premium World subscription (SityTrail Topo World and OpenStreetMap).

You can view the SityTrail Topo World maps here:

The topographical maps of the national geographical institutes (IGN France, IGN Belgium, swisstopo, etc.) are not available in this application.

For recent Huawei devices without Google and Play Store services, only the SityTrail World app is available on the Huawei AppGallery.
