Marshal Foch was very fond of Spa and came here many times after the First World War, but also in 1919 with the armistice commissions and on the occasion of the Spa Conference in 1920. After his death, the town of Spa erected this monument to his memory, the work of the sculptor de Zoete, which was inaugurated in 1932 in the presence of Marshal Foch.
