The Hesse Pavilion

Description

Built in 1769 on the initiative of Prince Hesse-Rhinfels in an antique style (Greek temple). During his stays in Spa, he used to give parties there. The building did not stand the test of time and was rebuilt in 1851. The original architecture was not preserved and the square shape was changed to octagonal. The four granite columns of the 1769 façade were reused. In 1972, Louis Pironet drew the attention of the Eaux et Forêts, the owners of the site, to the deplorable state of the pavilion, which was in danger of falling into ruin. Barbed wire prevented access. Although listed in 1976, it was not until 2002 that the renovation of the resting place was completed.
