During this walk, you will discover the castle from a totally different angle...It is said that during the Second World War, hundreds of crates containing paintings belonging to the Bruges Museum, as well as books from the Plantin Museum in Antwerp, were secretly stored in the castle cellar. This explains why the local policemen kept the castle under very close, yet discreet, surveillance….
