21 km | 29 km-effort
After a very short but steep uphill stretch when leaving Borgoumont, the route levels pleasantly out, and takes you between pastures on both sides. It becomes steeper when entering into the forest after a few hundred metre. Reaching a crossing between several tracks in the forest, you start a steep descent along a track that is deeply gullied, until you reach a ford. There, you can ford the river of use the wooden pontoon (which can be treacherously slippery however!), and continue up to the village of La Gleize along a level track.
