Rozenhoedkaai (Rosary Quay)

Description

Bruges is often referred to as the ''Venetia of the North'', although Bruges and Venetia were much more economic rivals than twin towns at that time! Just like the well-known city in North-eastern Italy, Bruges still has a full network of canals crisscrossing the town. For a long time, the canals used to be true arteries of life for the town.

The 'Rozenhoedkaai' is probably the most photographed spot in the whole of Bruges! And it is easy indeed to fall under the charm of the place... a true living postcard! It was here that Bruges salt harbour used to be located: salt was a luxury commodity in the middle ages.
