Anna Jaumenne (1877-1963), was Rochefort's last public crier. This very colorful character, inspired poems to the Walloon poets Joseph Houziaux and Lou Piérard. She would announce the local news, from everyday tidbits to major events, while ringing her bell, which is why she is called Anna 'the Ringer'(Anna the bell-ringer). A poster is never quite as lively! Hear! Hear!
