So named after the empress Mary-Theresa of Austria who had this road built so she could travel around without traveling through the lands of the prince bishop of Liège….thus avoiding toll! Notice that some sections of the road are still partially covered in stones. Once, this road linked Namur to Arlon via Vonêche.
